We’ve always believed that real performers need two things: strong training AND a place to perform. For nearly 18 years, Building Character has been one of the best-kept secrets in North Fulton for the first part. Now we’re adding the second.
Looking for Kid’s Cabaret?
Kid's Cabaret is our performance showcase for young performers.
What Is Building Character Arts?
We’re launching with a diverse slate of community theater productions — because theater should be for everyone:
- Musicals for Kids — full productions featuring young performers who are ready to put their training to work on a real stage
- Improv Comedy — fast, funny, and audience-interactive shows for performers who think on their feet
- Musicals & Plays for Adults — because the adults in our community deserve a creative outlet too
- Mixed-Age Ensemble Work — some stories are best told across generations, and we plan to tell a few of them
Productions will vary by season. Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Instagram and Facebook to be the first to know about upcoming auditions and show announcements.
Why We Built This
Honestly? Because we love theater and we love this community, and those two things together made this inevitable. We have spent nearly two decades watching this area grow, watching families pour into North Fulton, and watching a genuine hunger for the arts take root here.
We wanted to feed it with something worthy of it. Real productions. Real process. The kind of theater that reminds you why you fell in love with it in the first place. It's another opportunity for adults who love theater to perform well locally.
And It’s a natural next step for students who’ve built real skills in our classes, in school programs, anywhere they’ve genuinely trained and who deserve a performance environment that matches their level of commitment.
BC Arts is proof of that.
Who Is Building Character Arts For?
Young actors who are ready to perform.
Whether you’ve been training with us for years or you’re a strong young actor coming from another serious program, BC Arts is a place to grow. Auditions are real, roles are earned, and the work is meaningful.
Adults who miss the stage.
If you are looking for an opportunity to perform or used to perform and life got in the way, or if you’ve always wanted to try and never had the right opportunity, welcome. Community theater is one of the most joyful things a grown-up can do, and we built this for you.
Families looking for something real.
If you want your child in an environment where craft is valued alongside curtain calls, where the rehearsal room is just as important as opening night, you’ve found it.
The improv-obsessed.
If you live for the thrill of an unscripted moment and a laughing audience, you’ll have a home in our improv productions.
How It Works
Building Character Arts operates on a community theater model:
Open Auditions
Casting is based on fit, readiness, and the needs of each production
No Participation Fees
No participation fees to audition or be cast
Production-based
Each production has its own rehearsal schedule, cast, and performance run
All Ages Welcome
We produce shows for and with children, teens, and adults
We are still Building Character at our core. Expect the same high standards, the same collaborative spirit, and the same genuine investment in every single person who walks into our rehearsal room.
